Powell has launched a new multimedia project with visual artists Michael Amstad and Marte Eknæs.
Dubbed a ƒolder, the project will combine the music of Powell with film and image work by Amstad and Eknæs. A press release explains that the project has been set up "to proliferate more flexible and spontaneous modes of expression in a range of indeterminate formats." Each instalment in the project – whether it’s music, film, image or text – will be known as a ƒolder.
Each ƒolder will be catalogued and archived non-chronologically at the project’s dedicated webpage. You can check out the first ƒolder, featuring an 18-minute composition by Powell and a film created by Michael Amstad and Marte Eknæs, above.
Two new albums from Powell, titled multiply the sides and flash across the intervals, have also been released to mark the launch of the project.
