Bandcamp To Waive Fees Again On May 1

100% of sales via the platform will go in the pocket of artists on the first day of next month

Following the roaring success last month of Bandcamp’s decision to waive its usual 15% of fees on sales via the platform for a 24-hour period, it’s happening again next week.

On May 1, for 24 hours, starting from 9am BST, all of the proceeds from sales of digital files, physical music and merchandise will go into the pockets of artists. The move has come as Bandcamp continues to seek to help artists struggling with loss of income from the closure of clubs and live music venues around the world amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Last month’s fee-waive day saw people spend $4.3 million in a day via Bandcamp. Read back tQ writers’ Bandcamp tips from that day and keep an eye out for a similar guide coming to these pages next week.
