Christian Eede , March 11th, 2020 14:47

Described as a collection of "stray" tracks, it will be released on vinyl on Record Store Day

Wire have a new album on the way next month.

Titled 10:20, the band describe the vinyl-only album as a collection of "stray" tracks with some dating back to the '80s. "These are recordings of pieces that couldn't be accommodated on regular albums," explains a press release, which adds that it also features "compositions that - following their original studio recording - evolved substantially through live performance, and so deserved a new life on record. "

Above, you can hear the 10:20 version of 'Small Black Reptile' which originally dates back to the band's 1990 album, Manscape, and has been re-recorded with a new arrangement by the current line-up of Colin Newman, Graham Lewis, Robert Grey and Matthew Simms.

10:20 is a special release for Record Store Day, which this year takes place on April 18, and will be available to buy in-store only from that date. It just comes just three months on from the band's last album, Mind Hive.
