The Nuts and Bolts podcast, which focuses on women in music and sound art, returns for a third season

Having hosted two previous seasons via tQ in recent years, Jessica Sligter's Nuts and Bolts podcast is back today to kick off its third run.

The third season kicks off with a chat with French-born and Berlin-based electronic musician Jessica Ekomane, fresh off the back of the release of her first album, Multivocal, which came out via Important Records in October of last year.

Over the course of the 35-minute chat, Jessica Ekomane gets to grips with various aspects of her work which explores psychoacoustics, rhythmical perception and the interchange of noise and melody in longer pieces. She also discusses her use of Max/MSP to produce her work.

You can hear it above and check back on March 26 for another episode in the four-part series.

Nuts and Bolts, which shines a light on the thoughts and processes of women working in music and sound art, has hosted the likes of Jenny Hval, Jlin and Susanna, amongst others, since it began in 2018.
