Joe Hisaishi's scores for 'Kiki's Delivery Service' and 'Porco Rosso' will be pressed to wax by Turntable Lab

The soundtracks for two much-loved Studio Ghibli films will soon be made available on vinyl for the first time.

New York record shop Turntable Lab's in-house label will be overseeing the release of composer Joe Hisaishi's remastered scores for 1989's Kiki's Delivery Service and 1992's Porco Rosso.

The vinyl release of Kiki's Delivery Service's soundtrack includes all musical cues heard in the original Japanese version of the film including two vocal tracks, 'Rouge no Dengon' and 'Wrapped in Kindness', which feature singer, composer, and pianist Yumi Arai. It also comes with newly designed artwork.

Porco Rosso's soundtrack sees Hisaishi team up with a 70-piece orchestra for the recording and the new vinyl edition also includes two vocal tracks, this time sung by Tokiko Kato.

Turntable Lab will release the limited edition records on March 30. You can find more information on the Kiki's Delivery Service release here and on the Porco Rosso release here.

A number of Studio Ghibli scores were the subject of a 5x7" box set which Tokuma Japan Communications released in July of last year.
