Mouse On Mars’ Jan St. Werner will release a new album via Editions Mego early next year, featuring guest vocal contributions from the late Mark E. Smith.
Titled Molocular Meditation, the album follows a collaboration between St. Werner, Smith and the former’s Mouse On Mars bandmate Andi Toma as Von Südenfed. Together, they released an album via Domino in 2007.
The album’s opening title track sees Smith narrating an electroacoustic composition, which was originally premiered at Manchester’s Cornerhouse in 2014, while on closing track, ‘VS Canceled’, Smith can be heard reading an email from Domino explaining why the label was dropping Von Südenfed. Editions Mego will release the four-track LP on February 21, 2020.
