The recording of Richard D. James' 'Slo Bird Whistle' was produced for a 1995 Peel Session

Warp Records has shared a previously unreleased track from Aphex Twin's 1995 Peel Session.

'Slo Bird Whistle (Peel Session)' features on the new WXAXRXP Sessions compilation which takes in a number of radio sessions recorded over the years by Warp artists. You can hear the track above.

The recording of Richard D. James' track dates back to 1995 when he recorded his second Peel Session for John Peel's BBC Radio 1 show. The release of WXAXRXP Sessions marks the first time a properly mastered version of the track will be made available physically. The track was previously made available as part of Aphex Twin's extensive SoundCloud dump of old material and demos in 2015, but was later taken down alongside the rest of the uploads.

Warp Records will release WXAXRXP Sessions this Friday (November 15) as the latest part of their 30th anniversary celebrations in 2019. The compilation, which will be available digitally as well as in a 10xCD box set and 10xLP vinyl box set, also features recorded radio sessions from artists such as Boards Of Canada, Oneohtrix Point Never, Seefeel, Flying Lotus and LFO, amongst others.

Warp Records kicked off its 30th anniversary celebrations in June with a weekend-long series of radio broadcasts via NTS, featuring guests such as Aphex Twin, Autechre, Boards Of Canada, Kelela, Ryuichi Sakamoto and more.
