Stevie Wonder – Innervisions
What can you say? It's perfect. The way it's sung, played and produced: perfect. The way it explores issues through this incredible pop: perfect. 'Living For The City', 'Higher Ground', 'Don't You Worry 'Bout A Thing'…to have one of those singles on an album would be another stroke of luck, but to have all of them is just beyond my comprehension. It's soul music that absolutely crossed over to rock fans too – it was the first soul record that really connected with me.
