Brad Mehldau – Volume Three
He's from San Diego. When I was living and studying in Cambridge there was this little Polish cafe that was amazingly good and had a very attractive owner. I'd go there, fawn over some Polish pastry and a coffee, have my fill of fawning and pastries and go to the record shop next door. It was the late 90s and that album had just come out, they were playing it as I was looking through the racks and it was one of those moments where you think 'what is this?' and I bought it on the spot. Again, I play it at least once a week. It takes me back to the Polish pastries.
