Róisín Murphy's new single sees her team up with DJ Parrot

Róisín Murphy has released a new single, titled ‘Incapable’.

The track is a different take on the quintessential heartbreak anthem, featuring a 'diva' main character with mounds of permed hair.

“I thought it might be fun to write from a point of view totally opposite to the usual heartbreak and despair,” Murphy said. “This diva is mildly concerned at her own lack of feeling and it’s beginning to dawn on her that there will be no love without pain.”

Produced by Richard Barratt, also known as DJ Parrot or Crooked Man, this club-ready house track is the latest in a long list of collaborations between him and Murphy.

“I always listen to him and greatly appreciate his advice and support, he grounds me in a way and returning to him represents a very real return to my roots,” Murphy said of Barratt. “He’s also a miserable fucker and he drives me mad, but he’s pretty much always right and never lets me get too big for my boots!”

Murphy will also be embarking on a tour of many UK and European festivals this summer, including Amsterdam's Dekmantel festival. More information on the tour and tickets can be found here.
