A number of previously unreleased Prince demos are being collected together for an album called Originals.
The album has been compiled by Troy Carter of the Prince Estate and Jay-Z, and takes in a number of early versions of Prince-penned tracks that were later recorded and released by artists like The Bangles, Time, Shelia E. and Vanity 6. The 15-track set also includes an early version of ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’, which Sinead O’Connor later had a hit with.
Originals will be available for streaming and on CD in June, while a vinyl version will follow a month later.
