LISTEN: New Royal Trux

Royal Trux return with their first new material since 2000

Having reunited for a series of live shows in 2015 after a 14-year hiatus, Royal Trux have unveiled two new tracks, which you can listen to above.

The tracks, titled ‘Every Day Swan’ and ‘Get Used To This’ (which features Kool Keith), are the first new tracks to emerge from the duo in 18 years, after they got back together in the studio following their initial run of tour dates in 2015.

"Nothing has changed within the Truxian universe we created for ourselves as teenagers; because Trux is and will always be our way of life whether living it together or separate," says the duo’s Jennifer Herrema. "This is no hobby rock kick. We are long game lifers with no fear, no regrets and plenty of gratitude for the way the universe has rewarded our singular dynamic."

Herrema continues: "This next chapter is just another perfectly aligned bit of kismet. No concerted effort to force anything forward or to create something with an eye on the past. Only an awareness that the present had come calling with a gift to assist the future future of Royal Trux."

The duo initially announced their intentions to go back into the studio to record a new album earlier this year. No details on a full-length record from them have yet been revealed. The two tracks follow on from a digital reissue campaign via Fat Possum, the label they signed to earlier this year, of most of their back catalogue back in March.

The tracks are available now via Fat Possum, the label that the duo signed to earlier this year. They will also tour the US through February.
