Mylène Farmer - Ainsi soit je
When I first heard this record, I totally related to it, and I still do. I love the lyrics and her voice. She’s an amazing singer and I love that despite being a pop singer, she’s not afraid to go deep. She addresses very heavy subjects, but that’s one thing I have to give to the French people. They’re not afraid to talk about their emotions. I discovered this again in my late teens and it really spoke to me as pop and electronic music. It’s made from sequencers and drum pads and the production is so good. Mylène Farmer productions are still a huge reference point for me now. The guy she was working with, Laurent Boutonnat, is a really gifted producer.
