The B-52s - The B-52s
The girls are the thing I love the most about the B-52s. Like 'Rock Lobster' and whatever, it's great but you can't listen to that much of it at a time. I probably heard 'Rock Lobster' first, or saw them and thought they looked fun, and then looked them up. But I do love the girls – I love the style of singing where it's like, I just throw it out there, it's like chatty, like talk-singing. It's got a little punk rock in it, and the melodies are fucking sick. I also love the group voice, it's something I do too: layering different takes of my voice and stack them. I also love unexpected melody, and if you listen to the song '52 Girls' you'll hear what I'm talking about.
