The ‘David Bowie Is’ exhibit, which has been presented in 12 cities over the last six years, is now over, but has not come to a complete end.

Plans have been announced for the exhibition to relaunch as a VR experience which will be available on smartphones. The exhibition collects materials from across Bowie’s career, taking in his music, art and outfits, amongst other memorabilia.

Those using the VR experience will be able to experience a variety of audiovisual spaces and take a look at 3D scans of some of the materials featured in the exhibition. They’ll also be able to try on some of his costumes – in virtual terms at least.

The experience will launch initially later this year before undergoing a redesign for a full launch in spring of 2019. You can find more information here.
