WATCH: Great Dad Debut On Bleak Spring

DIY electronics duo Great Dad preview debut EP with a video for 'Walk Around'

Matthew Riviere’s Bleak Spring label is a recently launched imprint with a focus on releasing DIY music from around the UK, its first release coming earlier this year in a six-track cassette from Furore.

Now, its second release is ready, in the form of another six-track cassette by London-based duo Great Dad, who also form part of another DIY band called Worm Hears. While that band has more of a focus on guitars, Great Dad sees the pair get to grips with sparse, oddball electronics that sit alongside heavily processed vocals from Charlie Loane who provides vocals for both Great Dad and Worm Hears.

The EP is available digitally this Monday (October 16) and in a run of 30 cassettes risograph inlay by artist Katie Sheppard. You can find out more here and check out a video for one of the tracks, ‘Walk Around’, above. The EP will be launched tomorrow (October 13) at London’s Vinyl Deptford.
