Technics’ SL-1200GR, originally unveiled earlier this year, has now been made available to purchase.
The model is a more affordable take on the updated turntable that Technics initially relaunched last year. The SL-1200G, released last year, came with a price tag of over $4,000, but this new model will set you back a relatively more affordable $1699. A black 1210-GR version was also released in April of this year.
The SL-1200GR was originally scheduled to be available in April of this year, but it has only been made available for purchase now. The model features a single rotor, just like its 1210-GR counterpart, while the more expensive 1200G model featured a twin rotor.
The SL-1200GR was announced in January of this year at the CES 2017 tech trade show in Las Vegas when it was widely reported that Technics had turned their back on the DJ market that they had become known for and were instead targeting the audiophile market.
