Black Sabbath Detail Limited Edition Vinyl Boxset

Following the band's last run of gigs, a new boxset will collect their eight Ozzy Osbourne-fronted albums

Black Sabbath have announced details of a new limited edition vinyl boxset called The Ten Year War.

The boxset’s release comes following the band’s final run of gigs earlier this year with all eight of their Ozzy Osbourne-fronted albums to feature as part of the package. The boxset will also feature a host of rarities from the band, with all the albums housed within exclusive artwork created by renowned street artist and activist Shepard Fairey.

"Despite Black Sabbath’s multi-million selling albums and rabid fan base throughout the seventies, this adulation wasn’t always mirrored by the music press at the time," says a press release announcing the boxset. "The band received more than their fair share of criticism, prompting them to publish ‘The Ten Year War’ brochure; a playful dig at journalists with the witty tagline ‘more good press than most – more bad press than any.’"

That brochure has been reproduced in full for the boxset and is one of a number of exclusive items featured, with each of the band’s eight albums with Ozzy reproduced in their original sleeves and remastered from the original tapes. Two rare 7" singles also feature in the form of the Japanese version of Evil Woman (Don’t Play Your Games With Me)/Black Sabbath and the Chilean version of Paranoid/The Wizard – only 100 copies of the original radio promo were pressed.

The boxset will be available from September 29 but you can pre-order it here now.
