Foo Fighters have announced a new album, entitled Concrete And Gold.

Released in September, the album’s announcement comes ahead of their headline appearance at this weekend’s Glastonbury, with the band also unveiling a new video for the album’s lead single ‘Run’ which was released earlier this month. You can watch the video above.

"I wanted it to be the biggest sounding Foo Fighters record ever," says Dave Grohl. "To make a gigantic rock record but with Greg Kurstin’s sense of melody and arrangement… Motorhead’s version of Sgt. Pepper… or something like that."

The album sees the band team up with producer Greg Kurstin, whose past credits include Adele and Sia, for the first time. The alliance came about after Grohl first heard ‘Again and Again’ by Kurstin’s band The Bird & The Bee during a drive nearly four years ago. "It blew my mind… it was so much more sophisticated than anything I’d ever heard and I became obsessed," he says of the track.

Grohl continues: "I think maybe Greg is the guy that we ask to be our producer because he’s never made a heavy rock record before and we’ve never worked with a pop producer."

Concrete and Gold is out on September 15.
