I always thought in the 1980s that Brazilian music would be the next big thing. So much of it from that time has this incredible energy, and passion and romance – I genuinely thought it would take over. I actually went to Brazil and met this guy, and he was such an amazing performer. But America's genuinely not open enough to other cultures as much, in terms of music. We close doors, and we're sadly still closing doors.
