Andy Bell and Vince Clarke share details of their 17th studio album following 30th anniversary celebrations

With the pair having recently celebrated 30 years together, Erasure have now announced their 17th studio album, World Be Gone. You can watch a very brief trailer for the album above.

Set for release on Mute in May, the album marks the duo's first studio album release since 2014's The Violet Flame. The new album is said to see Andy Bell and Vince Clarke in a more reflective mood, particularly in light of recent political and social upheavals. "Obviously the current political climate lends itself to lots of ideas," says Clarke.

Andy Bell adds: "I think there’s an underswell of opinion, and people are slowly waking up. I’m hoping that people will take the album in a positive way, that they’ll use it as optimistic rabble-rousing music."

The album will be available in CD, digital and various vinyl formats from May 19. You can pre-order it here.
