David Bowie - Blackstar

Prior to Blackstar, David Bowie put out a single in the US called 'Sue (Or In A Season Of Crime' with the same ensemble, and we [Lambchop] were just blown away. The way he combined the freeform, ensemble jazz instrumentation with the things that he did, the power that was derived from that seemed to push him up to this whole other level of urgency and immediacy. Of course, Blackstar furthered that idea absolutely. It's a remarkable record, and will stand up as such, I hope. It's undeniably powerful and moving.
