Bob Dylan Finally Accepts Nobel Prize

Musician had been named as recipient of the prize for literature two weeks ago

Bob Dylan has finally got in touch with the Nobel committee to recognise the prize for literature that they awarded him two weeks ago.

The committee's Sara Danius said that Dylan got in touch on Tuesday of last week and said that the prize had left him "speechless". The musician had briefly recognised the honour via a post on his website but that was quickly deleted.

A member of the committee that played a part in naming Dylan as the recipient of the prize for literature had grown impatient with Dylan and called his previous silence "impolite and arrogant". Dylan told The Telegraph that he would attend the December 10 ceremony if he can, adding that: "some [of my] songs definitely are Homeric in value".
