Polish cellist displays debut album tracks in session captured earlier this year; watch below

Last week saw the release of Polish cellist Resina's self-titled debut album, and we are happy to share with you two live session videos featuring the musician performing tracks from that album - you can check them out above and below.

The session was captured at Gdansk's Szumi Studio at the start of the year, and above, Resina performs 'Dark Sky, White Water', a breathtaking cut that slowly unfurls and pierces for lasting effect, slowly revealing gorgeous melodies across its seven minutes. Below, you can check out 'Not Here', a more minimal offering with dainty, emphatic strings.

The album itself was completed before Resina was signed to FatCat's subsidiary 130701, with the label instantly deciding to releasing the album after she sent it as a demo. "Playing live I try to stick to the most important parts of composition but also to improvise every single time I play it," she says. "Every time I try to learn a little bit more about the pieces; check what makes them better, moves them further; try to move the border and squeeze out more, to make some kind of ritual of it. Hopefully that helps me keep the intensity."

Resina will play London's Union Chapel on October 15 and you can get tickets for that show here. She will also support Sarah Neufeld at a show at Bristol's Cube Cinema on November 9. Her self-titled album is out now.
