DDS Label Party, Friday 7 October
Fred Bowler , October 6th, 2016 10:56

Baba Jaga's Hut and Clock Strikes 13 present a night for Demdike Stare's DDS imprint at Village Underground, with Stepen O'Malley, Equiknoxx, Demdike Stare, Micachu and more

Since its inception in 2009 as an outlet for limited Demdike Stare 12'' and mixtapes, Distort Decay Sustain has developed into something of a boutique label for electronica and drone. In the last couple of years, DDS has seen releases by Nate Young, Shackleton and Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe amongst others, as well as putting out a bunch of Demdike Stare's sought-after cassette mixtapes.

The night will feature a solo performance by Stephen O'Malley, who released last year's Gruidés, an orchestral composition for the ONCEIM, a French 35-piece improv-orchestra via DDS. Also on the bill is the UK debut by Jamaica's Equiknoxx, responsible for the mutated riddims and twisted dancehall on Bird Sound Power released to high acclaim by DDS earlier this year. Further, there'll be DJ sets by Micachu and Jon K, as well as an a/v performance by Demdike Stare.
