Howling Owl is a favourite label among the tQ office having pushed a variety of excellent music from Bristol and beyond since its founding, maintaining a deeply independent approach to its work.
Last month the label celebrated five years of operations and its history, as well as the stories of some of its signings, has been captured in a series of short documentaries which you can check out above and below in the series ‘The Howling Owl Family’.
The documentaries, made by Alistair Shuttleworth from the University of Bristol’s online TV station, include in-depth interviews with the label’s founders as well as live performances and interviews with four of their signings: Taos Humm, Oliver Wilde, Giant Swan and The Naturals.
