London Mayor Addresses Fabric Closure

Sadiq Khan urges club, police and council to work towards a resolution

London mayor Sadiq Khan has responded to calls upon him to intervene in the suspension of Fabric’s license which currently sees the club closed for a number of weeks while police investigate two recent deaths suspected to be linked to drugs.

After a campaign by a number of Twitter users to encourage Khan to intervene in the matter, the mayor has taken to Twitter to say: “I’m urging Fabric, the Met & Islington to find an approach that protects clubbers’ safety & the future of the club.”

Khan’s campaign to become Mayor of London saw him address the ongoing troubles that the city’s nightlife faces, as many clubs continue to close, with pledges to be pro-active about ensuring that further losses do not take place.

There is still no word yet from Fabric on the license suspension but it is known that the club is closed indefinitely this weekend and for the foreseeable future.
