Bowie’s Last Album Is Biggest Selling Vinyl Of 2016

Blackstar has sold more vinyl copies than any other record this year so far

David Bowie’s last album, Blackstar, has sold more vinyl copes than any other record so far in 2016, a Nielsen’s mid-year report published earlier this week has revealed.

As The Vinyl Factory reports, the record has come out on top on sales of 57,000 so far for this year. The album has already sold more than last year’s highest sales apart from the top two, which was made up of the most recent albums from Adele and Taylor Swift.

Album sales on vinyl are up 11% so far this year on last year though it’s not all plain sailing for sales figures with the report detailing that all album sales in other formats have continued to fall. Adele’s 25 currently sits behind Bowie’s Blackstar on vinyl sales of 36,000 for the year so far.
