CTM Announces 2017 Theme

The Berlin festival reveals dates, theme and call for works

CTM returns for its 18th edition, under the theme ‘FEAR ANGER LOVE’, early next year.

The festival will be held from January 27 – February 5, at a variety of Berlin venues, such as Berghain, Hebbel am Ufer and Kunstquartier Bethanien.

Since CTM’s inception in 1999, the festival has provided a platform for radical and extreme forms of musical expression and dissonant emotions. Under next year’s theme, CTM intends to focus explicitly on such emotions in or through music, as well as the different strategies that are used to unleash or harness them, tracing the complex musical relations between bodies, affect and politics.

Furthermore, the CTM Radio Lab Call, now in its fourth year, is an open invitation to submit ideas for the creative interweave of radio art and live performance or installation art. The call is open to artists in the fields of experimental music, sound art, radio art, new radio drama and performance.

CTM 2017 will announce their line-up in October, with early bird tickets available then too. The submission deadline for the CTM 2017 Radio Lab Call is August 28. To find out more, click here.
