Paris-based musician shares a new track from his forthcoming second album; check it out below

Weird Dreams, aka Paris-based multi-instrumentalist, Doran Edwards, is set to release his second full-length record, Luxury Alone, on June 10 via Tough Love Records and above, you can check out a new track from the album, entitled 'Calm'.

Informed by the work of such disparate figures as American composer Robert Ashley, Japanese photographer Daido Moriyama and Birmingham dream-pop group Broadcast, the album marks something of a departure from Weird Dreams’ 2012 debut LP, Choreography. On Luxury Alone, the debut’s guitar-driven power pop is largely eschewed in favour of introspective synths and a more experimental, abstract lyrical approach.

“All this music is how I felt in the world," Edwards says. "I eventually chose to learn to mix the record myself, design my own fantasy image and then have that world disappear. Luxury Alone is hundreds of songs cut down to just ten.”

Weird Dreams will tour the UK in June and September, visiting Brighton on June 7, Manchester on June 8, and London on September 14. For more information about Weird Dreams and Luxury Alone, head over to the Tough Love website.
