Bowie Tribute Concert To Be Streamed

Tribute concerts set to feature appearances from Pixies, Blondie and many more

A tribute show to David Bowie set to take place later this week will be streamed online via Skype in exchange for a charity donation.

Two tribute shows featuring Pixies, Blondie, Michael Stipe, J Mascis and the Flaming Lips will take place in New York this week with the first set to be held at Carnegie Hall on March 31. As The Guardian reports, a second date will follow at New York’s Radio City Music Hall on April 1 which will be streamed live. Those watching the stream will be asked for a donation go one of a number of arts-based charities in return. A minimum donation equivalent to £15 is suggested.

Also among the names set to appear on the night are Anna Calvi, The Roots, Tony Visconti and many more. The concerts follow Bowie’s death on January 11, aged 69.
