Two albums from the band to be reissued next month

Two early releases from Factory Records by The Durutti Column are set to be given the reissue treatment.

As The Vinyl Factory reports, the albums, Amigos Em Portugal and Live At The Venue, will be released with new packaging designed by Trevor Johnson and will be issued via the Durutti label.

Amigos Em Portugal was the result of an invitation for Vini Reilly to visit Portugal to record a single. Having ended up recording an album’s worth of material there, it was released in 1983 with a number of the album’s instrumental track going on to be reworked for the album Without Mercy.

Live At The Venue captures a 1983 gig by The Durutti Column in London after the band were approached following the gig by a bootlegger who wanted to release the desk mix that he had got his hands on without the band’s knowledge. With a large amount of cash exchanged at a Mayfair hotel, the bootleg was later released. The reissues will be available from March 18.
