The Velvet Underground – Loaded
My brother bought this for me at Christmas when I was 13 or 14. I don't know how he knew I would like it. Maybe I was into the song 'Sweet Jane'. I got my first guitar when I was 18 and he wrote out the chords for 'Sweet Jane' for me. I would be curious why he chose that one for me. Maybe he just wanted it for himself, I don't know. I listened to it over and over and over again. It is kind of a weird introduction to the band, with it being their last. I love The Velvet Underground and this one is maybe more of a singer-songwriter album than their others. I haven't really thought that through, but it's maybe a fair description. Have they been an influence on my music? Yeah. Absolutely.
