Following on from the release earlier this year of his debut album, via Stroboscopic Artefacts, Chevel will soon issue a remix EP featuring alternative takes on tracks from the album by Perc, Paula Temple, Minor Science and Lee Gamble, whose remix you can listen to exclusively above right now.

The PAN-affiliated producer takes on ‘Watery Drumming’ from Chevel’s album, Blurse, turning into a hard-as-nails electro-tinged banger finding itself right at home alongside the new EP’s other remixes. Blurse Remixed is out, via producer Lucy’s Stroboscopic Artefacts label, this Friday (December 4). Below you can check out some words from Chevel on each remix from the forthcoming EP.

'Stranded (Paula Temple Remix)'

Loving the feeling of fastness and ‘hecticness' you get from listening to this remix. Paula combined originally smooth elements of the original track like the Prophet 5 pad to her harsh, UK techno/EBM influenced beats.Definitely the most club-oriented version of them all.

'Watery Drumming (Lee Gamble Remix)'

First of all, Lee Gamble is a musical hero of mine. I remember walking down the Prenzlauer Berg/Mauerpark area on a grey, cold and kind of surreal evening and listening to his track 'Skorokhodz' on PAN on my headphones and thinking 'What the fuck is this!?!?' (in the best possible way, of course!) I must say I still can’t believe he remixed one of my tracks, as I suggested him to the label. The remix he’s done is simply flawless, possibly my favourite on the whole EP.

'Heimweh (Perc Remix)'

The title of this track says it all, or most of it at least. It’s a track I’d done on a very nostalgic moment of my life and I like that Perc respected this feeling (consciously or not?). I wish to see this played in a club pretty soon; the moment of stillness must be emotionally moving.

'Loop #42 (Minor Science Remix)'
Same as Lee Gamble, Minor Science is definitely one of my favourite producers. He hasn’t done much, possibly two EPs and a few remixes/edits but I’ve personally played and supported them all. The guy has depth to his sound and a very strong approach when it comes to artistic identity, which makes his production unique and unmistakable. He transformed a pretty basic Loop (the original version) into a whole structured and trippy piece. Genius!
