Company will operate 'at the intersection of cannabis and pop culture'

Snoop Dogg has founded a media company that aims to bring together ‘cannabis and pop culture, as the Guardian reports.

Launched alongside media entrepeneur Ted Chung, the company, suitably named Merry Jane, was described as a “premier media platform at the intersection of cannabis and pop culture” at TechCrunch Disrupt, a conference in San Francisco, yesterday. Apparently it will aim to public information on all manner of issues involving cannabis, including a video interview series called ‘Deflowered’ that they say will profile the heavy hitters of the industry. There will also be a location mapping service for users to consult at their disposal.

“After watching where the cannabis industry is headed, I wanted to create a platform that will take this movement further by creating a destination where people could find fresh content,” Snoop Dogg said yesterday while launching the service. “Merry Jane is a game-changing platform for pop culture. It’s a new frontier y’all!” The website launches next month, though a beta site currently exists that allows 420 users a day to access it if they’ve signed up.
