Producer returns to Diagonal for album channeling "Mills & Hood-era Hardwax"

Russell Haswell is set to return to Diagonal Records next month for the release of his new album, As Sure As Night Follows Day, as announced earlier this morning by FACT. You can hear a track from it, called 'HARDWAX FLASHBACK, above.

The label says that the album in inspired by "Mills & Hood-era Hardwax, J-noise, Midlands metal and Suffolk Cyder," so a rather wide-ranging set of influences then as can only be expected from Haswell. Haswell's last album release through Diagonal came last year with 37-Minute Workout and the producer has also released through Warp, Editions Mego and more in the past. It was produced and recorded "over a fast-working period in late 2014" and will be released on September 19. It takes in 17 tracks over 49 minutes and a set of 12" releases will follow later in the year collecting remixes of tracks from the album by Autechre, DJ Stingray, Powell and more.
