Slovenian band mark North Korea shows with video for recent album track; watch it below

Last week Laibach became the first Western group to play a full live show in North Korea with two shows in Pyongyang as part of their Liberation Day Tour. To mark the event, the band have released a brand new video for ‘We Are Millions And Millions Are One’ from recent album, SPECTRE, which you can watch above.

The video was directed by RÁTNEEK and features animations taken from Vuk Jevremovic's ‘La Isla De Los Muertos’. The tour itself of two venues in Pyongyang was documented by Norwegian artist Morten Traavik, who created the video for the band’s single ‘The Whistleblowers’, and will be collected as part of a documentary. In a Rolling Stone interview about their time in the country, the group’s Ivo Saliger spoke of what surprised him most. “They produce excellent beer. It is actually considered a soft drink and microbreweries there are popular. You can also drink beer freely from an open container outside on the street and smoke inside hotels and bars without a risk of prison. Pyongyang, with the rest of the country, is also probably the safest place in the world to walk around — if they let you walk around, of course. And for those who are into cannabis, North Korea is a very liberal place, where possession of cannabis is in fact essentially legal.” Choe Jong Hwan, one attendee of the shows, said: “I didn’t know that such music existed in the World and now I know”.
