"Music In Which To Get Truly Lost": Daniel Avery's Favourite Records
The Quietus , August 5th, 2015 11:55

The Phantasy producer and DJ goes from mid-teen discoveries to recent acquisitions as he writes us his own Baker's Dozen of top albums, EPs and mixes ahead of his b2b set with Erol Alkan at fabric later this month

Scout Niblett - Kidnapped By Neptune
A wholly addictive record full of short, sideways hooks and melodies. There is something so pure about Scout's voice too. The album holds a fond place in my memory as a reminder of the time I was first moving to London and all the excitement that brought with it. The fact that the oddball title track was a main room favourite at Trash was instant confirmation that 1) it was one of the best clubs in the world, and that 2) I had found a new home. Erol's [Alkan, Trash founder and Phantasy head] enthusiasm has always been unbridled and now, several years down the line, I'm proud to be a part of the Phantasy family.
