Tim Burgess has unveiled his latest single, due for release on Record Store Day, with Factory Floor’s Nik Colk Void providing backing vocals.
‘Like I Already Do’ was made in New York with the Charlatan’s frontman collaborating with Void and producer Peter Gordon. The process, Burgess told the Quietus, was simple. “We were in the studio. I had the song. Nik wanted to show me a vocal idea, Peter loved it and it stayed.”
Gordon, known for his work with Arthur Russell, Laurie Anderson and more recently James Murphy, performs the majority of the instrumentation on the record with support coming from percussionist Mustafa Khaliq Ahmed and Plus Minus Ensemble cellist Alex Waterman.
The track will be released on O Genesis Records with B-side ‘Tracks of My Past’.
