Early next year, perennial tQ favourite Mark Lanegan is taking his band on a tour of the UK in support of this year’s Phantom Radio album. Have a read of him telling us about the record here. Before that though, the LP’s ‘Floor Of The Ocean’ has been given a remix at the hands of Martin Jenkins, aka "apparitional electronica" trawler Pye Corner Audio (coining Joe Banks’ phrase from his review of PCA’s Black Mill Tapes Volumes 1-4 earlier this year). The driving, borderline motorik rhythms of the original get dissolved into archival hiss by Jenkins, Lanegan’s vocal surfacing, untethered from its backing, like some errant radio broadcast, before an acid-flecked synth line sweeps in, reconfiguring the track as a low-key house broiler.
