Sonic Cathedral: Psych For Sore Eyes 2

Label announce another volume of their compilation, released today at the Liverpool Psych Fest; hear new Hills track from double 7" below

Fine, fine news for a Friday, and especially one so auspiciously psychedelic as the opening day of the Liverpool International Festival Of Psychedelia 2014. Sonic Cathedral will be following up last year’s Psych For Sore Eyes compilation, a now highly sought-after six-tracker featuring contributions from Hookworms, The Vacant Lots and Lorelle Meets The Obsolete, with a second edition, out today to mark the festival’s beginning. It’s a double 7" affair with a further six new tracks from Morgan Delt, White Fence, Damaged Bug, Psychic Ills, Prayer Meeting and Hills; with the latter gracing the stage tomorrow, SC have kindly given us a first play of their contribution, ‘Montelius Väg’ – listen above.

Additionally, bask in the glory of the artwork from four separate angles below. It’s been created by London-based printmakers Heretic, who’ve previously created posters for Quietus gigs and will be providing the visuals for The Happening, the record’s launch today. But before then, it’s now available from Piccadilly Records’ World Of Psychedelic Wax Wonders, while any remaining copies will be put out through Sonic Cathedral’s online shop on Monday, with a digital edition following on November 3.
