LISTEN: Fat Whites - I Am Mark E Smith

...and they've got the paperwork to prove it

Adventurers in the field of hygiene limits Fat White Family are putting out the first single on their label Without Consent next month. It's called 'I Am Mark E Smith' and it's out on October 27. Committing plain sight identity theft of The Fall frontman (not to mention another surprising revelation on the B-side, 'I Am Joseph Stalin') really requires a very fine song, and said track is exactly that, a teeming mass of pond scum keys, donkey hoof hand claps and further lyrical pearls from Lias Saudi ("Leave the kettle on, leave the kettle on!"). Listen above.

It'll be preceded by Trashmouth reissuing their debut album Champagne Holocaust, one of our favourite records of last year no less, on September 15, with an added second disc, featuring all three parts of their 'Wet Hot Beef' opus, demoes, previously unreleased tracks, a remix and live material, all packaged with a new inner spread, "featuring 17 drawings by Saul from the band of famous serial killers which are featuring in a forthcoming exhibition alongside work by legendary 60’s cartoonist R. Crumb." But of course. The day after, the band will be rounding off their tour - the Tour Of Tenderness - with fixtures at Glasgow's Art School on September 16, Sound Control in Manchester, 17, and a sold-out show at London's Electric Ballroom, 18. Their Facebook has all the details.
