Coil - Scatology
Coil had a very unique approach, and the sound world that they were using was very unique straight from their first album, this one. Their way of using the sampler – at that time it was a very expensive instrument and most of the bands couldn't afford it – that made it really special. I was really into Throbbing Gristle, and after they split I listened to a lot of Chris & Cosey and Psychick TV and all of them. In all of their albums, they're very versatile; they can go every which way, but then I feel that in everything that they did there is this certain kind of Coil nature and feeling in it that is very unique. It is very sad that they have both now passed away. I saw them live three times. One concert they played in SONAR, it must have been 2001… I'm not sure, it was amazing, a very impressive concert.
