The Playground announce show at KOKO in London in August

On Saturday 16 August London promoters The Playground and KOKO in Camden play host to two dance music veterans, Derrick May and A Guy Called Gerald, with the latter performing a rare live set. More than 25 years after producing the hugely successful 'Strings Of Life' and pioneering Detroit techno as one of the "Belleville Three" alongside Juan Atkins and Kevin Saunderson, May is still touring the world as an ambassador of the classic Detroit sound. Joining him is one of Britain's biggest dance music exports, A Guy Called Gerald, who'll be playing live. Himself a pioneer, A Guy Called Gerald was arguably the defining voice of the acid house explosion in the UK, both as a solo artist and a founding member of 808 State.

Also DJing on the night will be Death in Vegas founder Richard Fearless, Barem and Last Magpie, with the bill rounded off by a live performance from French Kiwi Juice. Tickets are available through The Playground's website.
