Ex Models, 2006
What I loved but what also often did me in about ATP was seeing and experiencing bands I barely knew in a setting with a decent stage and sound system. I knew something about Ex Models through their connections with the day's curators, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, but there wasn't much to see as they played in near darkness with strobe lighting and a dedicated projectionist with a selection of transparencies.

While you sensed there were figures who were making an intense noise on stage in near darkness, there appeared little to actually photograph. Still I wasn't going to leave without trying and I used a longer exposure hoping that the strobe lighting would fire while the camera's shutter was open. I came away with this image of projected lightning bolts across the guitarist's arm, neck, red T-shirt and wooden Gibson.
