I rarely think to take double exposures (when two photographs are superimposed on each other) and this wasn't intentional, but when a happy accident like this comes off, I'll take it.
On this occasion, my film had only partially wound on between what were two similar group photos with Blixa Bargeld in the centre. In the first shot Blixa appears to be preaching and in the second he's either casting a spell or about to take flight at an oblique angle.
There are probably ways to take double exposures digitally but you couldn't get the serendipity of having an image that's one and a half frames in length and looks like one of Steve Gullick's mid-90s extreme wide angle portraits. I'm still blown away that this image is grounded by a single musician on each side, which makes Blixa's doppelganger appear all the more unworldly.
