Arne Nordheim - Electronic Music By...
I've always been fond of outsider and visionary art, recently indulging myself in Nicholas Kalmakoff and Austin Osman Spare's works, and in classical music I enjoy Prokofiev or Ravel or even Berlioz. Arne Nordheim is to me the juxtaposition of these art forms. It is the sound of Gustave Dore's Inferno or biblical drawings; classical compositions mixed with computer-generated noise music. Or tapes. Or field recordings. A true innovator. Listening to Nordheim's music make me wanna throw away all stupid guitars, sell my amps on eBay and buy percussion at Adams.
