Beyond The Valley Of The Dolls soundtrack
Love this soundtrack to the Russ Meyer masterpiece, Beyond The Valley Of The Dolls, which was mainly written by Stu Phillips, who wrote songs for The Monkees’ TV show, amongst others.

The songs in the film are lip synced by the fictional girl group The Carrie Nations, but are in fact sung by Lynn Carey. Lynn's got some lungs on her. She sang in a few post-Janis Joplin-type blues rock groups in the late 60s/70s such as Mama Lion. Her performance on songs like 'Find It' and 'Sweet Talking Candyman' are the sound of a singer 'avin it!!

It's a great film too. I love simple morality tales that go off on one; this film goes off on a few.
