I can't overstate how important that record was for me, and their earlier music too, in making me believe it was possible to make original, exciting music in our part of the world and have people interested and warm to it. That's a pretty big revelation when you're 14 years old. It had such a strange and amazing atmosphere. I played the hell out of that thing and I think it stands up pretty well today.

I tried to write 10-minute songs at that point as well, and realised fairly soon there were probably two or three three-minute songs in there instead, and that was the better way to go.
