Paint With Mary Anne Hobbs & Jeremy Deller!
Laurie Tuffrey , November 26th, 2013 11:11

Hobbs and Deller encourage listeners to make and send in art in time to the Sunday morning show on 6 Music as part of art-filled weekend

There's more art than you can shake a filbert watercolour paintbrush at on Mary Anne Hobbs' morning show on BBC 6 Music this weekend. On Saturday, she'll be previewing this year's Turner Prize and talking to artists Jeremy Deller and Gary Hume, former winner and nominee of the prize respectively, as well as taking a look at art curation with Maria Balshaw from Manchester Art Gallery. Then on Sunday, she'll be joined again by Deller to take part in an on-air experiment asking listeners to make and send in art inspired by the music being played on the show, with electronic artist Mira Calix remixing the whole broadcast into a sound-art piece.

To get you started with some inspiration, have a look at the portrait of Hobbs painted by her brother John Hobbs above, tune in here and send in your art on Sunday to @BBC6Music on Twitter with the hashtag #6MusicMakeArt.

UPDATE - December 2: You can now listen to the Saturday and Sunday shows in full online and scroll through the mightily impressive galleries of listener-created artworks for the two shows here and here.
